Last week I got bored of my of bookcases and decided to make a transformation. A fresh look always makes me happy. I had some leftover paint from my closet makeover and well …ding, ding, ding…I used used it for this project.
I removed the shelves and applied paint just on the back wall of the bookcase. This color (Applesauce Cake) is a couple shades darker than the color on the walls. Perfect for the bookcase to pop and stand out. I went ahead and paint the edges.
Then rolled on the first coat.
Once the first coat dried, I painted the second coat of paint.
When both coats were dried completely, I inserted the shelves back in and placed all the decor and pictures back on the shelves. It’s easy and quick but a huge impact.
I love it!
Little projects like these can liven up a space. So go ahead and revamp your bookcase or niche – all it takes is a few hours.
Oh – and have fun with it!
